I am a third generation Japanese American, native Seattleite, graphic designer and ceramicist. I’ve happily returned to clay—my first love—after some decades apart. My work is largely hand-built from slabs. I have a keen interest in surface design and enjoy using sgraffito, carving and painting to embellish my pieces. Nature, design, color, and my heritage fuel my creative direction.
