To me, ceramics is a continuous dialogue- a conversation between tradition and modernity, functionalism and aesthetics, and between a community of practitioners. Coming from a background in architecture, my ceramics practice is an extension of my design sensibilities. In my work I strive for formal clarity, harmony between parts, and an attention to ergonomics. I am fascinated by the materiality of ceramics, expressed through connection with the raw clay body and the use of negative space as a design tool.
