Description

You made a work of clay. Now comes the hard part, as you make the next decisions. Ceramics offers so many surface possibilities: slips and stains, glazes and overglazes, monoprints, transfers and more! The ceramic surface is a veritable garden of forking paths.   Which way to turn, how to choose?  Next come firing concerns. Is your work spindly and tall, or squat and heavy? Do you need special stilting or something to help it not stick to the shelves? How much will it shrink?  We’ll discuss these options as we prepare the pieces for transformation in the kiln.
