Description

Using tarpaper templates is a great technique for the home studio. It is clean! Much of the design work is done before you even touch the clay and you can create multiple forms that can be used at various stages of wetness. This process of working appeals to both 2D and 3D artists and the faceted and planar shapes lend themselves to many marvelous surface applications. We’ll learn step-by-step: drawing up a template, constructing with the tarpaper slabs and decorating and treating the surfaces of the porcelain.  An initial bag of clay will be provided at pick up, as well as some slips. An additional list of underglaze supplies, and materials will be provided, with information on how to procure more options.
