Sharing the Wealth
Sharing the Wealth- a two day symposium/workshop with Al Tennant
Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5, 10am-4pm, each day. $75
FREE slide talk Saturday night, 7-9pm
It takes a lifetime to learn to do anything really well, and Al Tennant has spent a good few decades crafting art and firing wood kilns. His experience has made him a sought after teacher and firing guru. Join us for a weekend of informal stories, demonstrations, shared knowledge, and lots of new ideas. Come with your questions; come with your notebooks; come for the fun in this two day tour-de-force with one of the Northwest’s living treasures.
Al Tennant was the head of the ceramics program at the University of Alaska, Anchorage for many years. He has fired (and built) kilns, and conducted workshops all across the country and is well known for his wit and his wisdom. His work has been widely shown and collected in many parts of the country.
Participants: Please bring a lunch, a notebook, and a favorite cup to use during the weekend. Bring some slides/CD to share during the workshop, if you like. There will be a shared slide/digital image show during the workshop for anyone who wants to talk about their own work or their kiln experience.
